Do you ever feel like life is just a throw of the dice? You may not be far from the truth. There's a little-known holiday that was established about 2,267 years ago that commemorates and celebrates a people who stood up for their right to provide for their common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to themselves and their posterity.
The basic story is that a newly appointed prime minister was given an extreme honor by the king that required everyone to bow down whenever he appeared. Now there was this one guy who refused to bow down, that made the Prime Minister infuriated. He resolved to take revenge against all and any who sided with the guy and threw dice (our secret gambler revealed) to determine the “lucky” day when he would implement his plan to annihilate them all. The lot fell on the 13th day of the Hebrew month of Adar.
This story sounds so much like what we face today as we confront counterculture and wokeism and whatever else the foolish come up with.
This is actually the biblical story of Esther and where we get the famous quote: "Who knows if you have been born into the kingdom for such a time as this." Mordechai, Esthers uncle also sent another message to his niece the queen. That message was a little more ominous as he said, "Do not think that you will escape the fate of all the Jews by being in the king’s palace. For if you will remain silent at this time, relief and salvation will come to the Jews from another source, and you and the house of your father will be lost. "
