The Crossroad Chronicles, Issue 2

We've all had our share of trials and tribulations this past year...and I like to think we've come through them together. Even at times when we feel alone in our struggles, I like to call on God and His Faithfulness!

In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God. Psalm 62:7

As I was in prayer this week, the LORD impressed on my heart the image of a mighty ship pulling in to dock for a time of restoration and repair, before being sent out again on mission.

After the LORD had shown this to me, I was taken back to 2016 when God was speaking to several pastors in Brevard County. For me He spoke about the region in which we live as being a safe harbor. His Harbor to be exact. I asked the LORD what He meant and that led to a study on harbors.  Consider this...a place on the coast where vessels may find shelter, especially one protected from rough waters and storms...a place where minor repairs can take place to a ships structure in a place of safety...where it's crew can find rest.

In several locations around the county you will find signs like the one below.

At the time I saw one of these signs, I heard the Spirit speak in my spirit, "This is My Harbor Region Son." Not long, (a week) after--other pastors began referring to the region as a place they believed the LORD was calling people to come and find rest, times of restoration, repairs etc...before being sent back out into their mission. Honestly, I had completely fogotten this call of the LORD for this area. Yet, here I find myself again sensing the LORD wanting to renew this call to the region.

For this reason, I believe we are entering into a short season of safe harbor from all that we've been facing this past year. I believe God wants us to experience and embrace His Harbor experience in order to share and be a place of safety for others who may need times of rest and restoration. By that , I mean us individually as well as, as an assembly of believers.

God Promises Renewed Strength (Isaiah 40:31) Read Isaiah 40:31: "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." It is a time to find rest for our souls and embrace the purpose and calling God has for us in this season of life.

Could I be the Secret Gambler?

We can learn from every situation and from every person. The actions of both Pinchas and the daughters of Zelophehad present an important lesson of boldness in a proper context. Numbers 25:10–30:1 The actions of Pinchas teach us that when we see improper behavior, we shouldn’t just stand by and look away. We must boldly stand up for what is right and confront it, even if it goes against our nature. Like Pinchas, we must be loyal to God and His virtues. Loyalty is a virtue that drives success. The actions of the daughters of Zelophehad teach us that we can boldly stand up for ourselves in a respectful manner. When you feel that you are not being treated fairly, don’t be afraid to ask questions, and try to find a solution to the situation. When you are faced with challenges that demand courage, remember that there is a right time, a right place, and a right context for boldness.
